The statistics are alarming. The majority of young people raised in the Christian Church are leaving the faith by adulthood. Chosen Gen is on the front lines fighting for the next generation. Our mission is to encourage and equip Christian parents to pass on their faith through discipleship.
Encouraging and Equipping Parents
The Bible is clear that God has given parents the critical role in the battle for their children. It is their responsibility to pass on their faith to their kids through discipleship—showing them through their words and actions what it looks like to follow Jesus. It is our heart and mission to come alongside Christian parents in this work through the creation of discipleship resources.
Our Founders
Justin and Katy Goede are the founders of Chosen Gen. Through almost a decade of youth ministry work, God broke their hearts over the exodus of young people from the Christian faith. Moved to fight back, they started Chosen Gen to awaken parents to the incredible calling they have been given to disciple their kids. Their pray is that God ignites a fire of discipleship in Christian homes that leads to an emboldened next generation that is ready to rise up and take the good news of Jesus to every corner of the world. Married for 15 years and the parents of six children, Justin and Katy live in Wisconsin, where you’ll find them adventuring as a family in God’s beautiful creation.
Financials and Governance
Chosen Gen is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. Chosen Gen is managed by its Board of Directors. The Board has prayerfully set forth a multi-year vision, which has been broken down into yearly objectives. An annual budget has been approved to accomplish this mission-focused work. All donations are received, tracked, and spent in keeping with the ministry’s goals and budget. Chosen Gen is also responsible for filing annual reports with the state and federal government.
