Christian Parents - Let’s Rise Up!
As humans, we look to ourselves to solve life’s problems. In the fight for the next generation, we cannot make this mistake. If we do, we will be like the ten spies of Israel that saw the challenges before them in the Promised Land and called for all to retreat. No, our children need us to be like the two spies that looked instead to God and confidently trust Him for their victory.
In this spiritual battle for our kids, God is the answer. Will you rise up as a two?
God of the Impossible
The Bible is powerful because it proclaims who God is and reminds us of all the impossible things God has done and is still able to do.
God created the entire universe. God sustained the Israelites in the desert. God brought down Jericho’s walls. God gave the Midianite army to Gideon and his 300 men. God continued the flour and oil for a widow and her son. God raised back to life the Shunammite's son. God saved the Jews through Esther. God rescued Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace. God protected Daniel in the lions’ den. Jesus healed the sick, lame, deaf, mute, blind, and lepers. Jesus fed 5000. Jesus calmed the storm. Jesus raised Lazarus to life. Jesus defeated sin and death.
There is hope for the next generation when we turn this fight over to God and follow His plans.
God’s Battle Plan
As we read throughout the Bible, mankind has a way of getting itself into trouble by abandoning God's good ways for their own. The solution is always to repent and turn back to living according to his Word. This is the foolishly simple, yet wise battle plan of God.
Starting with Humility and Repentance
Parents, rising up for the next generation begins with humility. As hard as it is to hear, many of us have shown our children the wrong road to walk and we need to begin our fight for our kids with repentance.
Returning to Discipleship Parenting
The way we rise up for our children is by parenting according to God’s plan, which we read about in Deuteronomy 6:6-9. At Chosen Gen, we call this Discipleship Parenting.

Sojourn Family Bible Studies
Sojourn is a two part family Bible study focused on discipleship. Part one is for husbands and wives. Part two is a Bible study for kids of all ages.
The Bible is God’s unchanging word that we can trust and base our lives on. In today’s skeptical world, we need to be equipped to stand.
