I love God and so desperately want to be an obedient child. Yet, day after day I find myself fighting against my sinful nature – pride, selfishness, laziness, impatience, discontentment, and the list goes on.
Stepping out in this more public role for Chosen Gen has really led to this feeling of needing to be perfect. Yet, the end of the day comes and I have to admit that I’ve fallen far short of that goal. It has been an unexpectedand tough thing to handle. God, can you really use an ordinary person to fight for the next generation? You’ve got to be ready to give up on me.
Then, the incredible happens. God finds a quiet, simple way to remind me that he loves me, he loves me, he loves me. It is such an awesome truth that is life-changing. It resets me and helps me to press on.
I just wanted to share this because I’m guessing there are many of you that need this same reminder today. God loves you! He hasn’t given up on you. Don’t lose heart and don’t give up. Keep fighting.
This world, especially the next generation, needs Christians to rise up. I believe it starts when we understand the unmatched love God has for us and this leads us to respond by surrendering our lives to him and his mission.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
