Two weeks ago, it was 36 degrees outside. Today, we almost set record high reaching 86 degrees. That’s Wisconsin! With the beautiful spring (summer?) weather, I have been using my lunch hour to go for a walk at a park near my work. It’s a great time to take in God’s creation while praying to the Creator.
As I was walking past some woods, taking in some newly fallen trees from winter, I had a thought enter my mind: God is in every little detail.
When we look at his creation, it is easy to be awestruck by the distant stars, majestic mountains, powerful thunderstorms, or unique animals. However, we rarely take note of all the little details too that declare his existence and power. When I saw the fallen trees, I thought about all the different bugs that would go to work on them to turn them to dirt. This led me to consider all the other tiniest creations on this earth that serve an important purpose divinely made.
When I applied this to my life and Chosen Gen, it brought me great comfort. God is a God of details. He knows exactly what he is doing with this ministry and in my life. I think of the story of Joseph in the Bible. We get to witness how God was preparing him in all the long days and years of hardships for the purpose he had planned for him. This is true in our lives too. God is working out every little detail in our story for his purposes and glory. How amazing he is!
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
